"Looks like Kiku lost his hug virginity!!" your best friend screeched with joy as you hugged your closest friend.
You pouted and looked away nonchalantly. "He's my guy best friend, nothing more."
Personally, you wanted it to be more, but by the way Kiku acted around everybody made it seem impossible. He never wanted touch or anything, and truthfully it got to you after a while. So you forced your wonderfully uncomfortable hug upon him. His face lit up three shades of pink as you pressed up against him.
Acting like you didn't understand what you did, you let go of him, letting your arms fall to your sides. "Did I do something wrong?" you said, in an innocent fashion.
He nodded quietly. You raised your eyebrows. This moment had just become extremely awkward for the both of you. Whistling, you made an amazing turn that a general would be proud of. You dropped your eyes and began to walk away.
You were yards away from him when you heard the distinct "Engrish" voice. "Wait, (Y/N)! Prease come back!"
Your eyes widened and you turned to face him. "You said my name!!!" you exclaimed. "Without a –chan or –san or anything else!!!"
He looked down at his feet and you could tell he was extremely nervous. You wish you had your friend to back you up, or give you some advice. Where did she go off to anyway? You took tiny steps forward and tried to look into his downcast eyes.
"What is it Kiku?"
"This is very sudden, but wourd you come on a trip to my country with me?" he said, his stoic voice not really convincing you.
"Um…. Maybe, I mean, I'd like to, but…. I'm not sure what my parents would say." You replied, unsure.
You rubbed your left foot against your left ankle nervously. "Uh….. I'm in. I'd like too."
Kiku cocked his head to the side. "Are you sure, (Y/N)-chan? It's Japan you know."
You looked up brightly, and gave him a big smile. "Japan? Really?! Of course I'm sure, silly. Why would I not be sure?"
Well, your parents weren't too happy, but they said you could go. He was your best friend and they did know him extremely well, so you were allowed to go. What crazy parents you have! Your mom was all for it, excited that you were going to experience a new country, but your father was a tad worried you'd get lost and eat alive by wild dogs. Where he got that from, you had no idea.
The flight was extremely long, boring, and tiring. You fell asleep quite a few times too, and you were constantly leaning your head on Kiku's shoulder. It was really hilarious actually. He would shake you off and go back to reading. You would lay your head back down. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. It was a really cute scenario.
. . .
"(Y/N)-chan. The fright is over." Kiku's words echoed in your dream.
"No more lampposts, mommy, I'm not hungry anymore…" you sleep-talked.
Kiku shook you gently, yet again you were making him forget about his "no-touchy-feely-rule". "(Y/N)-chan, we are here in Tokyo!"
You blinked your cloudy eyes and stood up wobbly. "Oh okay. Didn't realize it, sorry, Kiku." You mumbled.
. . .
You and Kiku had done plenty of sight-seeing together. He seemed to be slightly warming up to your touch. You would take one of his fingers into your hand, despite the fact that he flinched every single time. You kept this up until you gained a large amount of courage. The courage to hold his hand, that is. As the two of you walked a scenic path to Mount Fuji, you snatched up his hand and held it tightly. He blushed brightly at your action.
"(Y/N)-chan! Why are you being so touchy?"
You closed your eyes. "Kiku. When you said my name, without any add-ons, I felt really happy." You said, trying to be as courageous as possible. "It was really a wonderful thing to hear, and I was nothing but happy…"
Kiku looked at you. You couldn't see this, but you could feel his eyes burning your skin with their blank stare. "Could you say my name again? Just by itself?" You pleaded.
Kiku sighed. For a moment you'd thought you were going to be disappointed. "(Y/N). (Y/N), (Y/N), (Y/N)."
You sighed in relief. "That was a good change for once, but you didn't have to say it so much."
Kiku smiled, a very rare event. "And this is going to be a good change as well." He replied mysteriously.
Suddenly, he broke every touchy-feely-rule you knew of. He pulled you into an embrace and kissed your lips. As soon as he pulled away, it was your turn to blush and stutter.
"K-k-kiku! That was…."
Kiku smiled again. "And arr it took was inviting you to my home, Japan." He said. "I love you, (Y/N)."
